The Organization:
The Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery is a public-private initiative that facilitates interdisciplinary research and breakthrough discoveries to advance human health and well-being in the heart of UW-Madison. The state-of-the-art facility housing the institutes opened in December 2010 and serves as a hub for researchers to collaborate across scientific disciplines and for broader public interactions.

The Position
The Discovery Niche & Outreach Intern will support the Outreach Team in managing activities in the teaching labs and discovery niches. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to help develop science outreach materials in a state-of-the-art facility and will have the chance to learn how to communicate effectively with different audiences.

The Details:
Location: Madison, WI (UW-Campus)
Time Period: Spring 2013 (ideally 3 consecutive semesters); 15-20 hours/week
